The one with the trip to Jempol

My alarm rang at 6:15am my time this morning. Finally woke up at about 6:50 (apparently the Nokia phone only allows 7 times to press the snooze button). Got ready to make my trip to this new and wonderous place. Feeling half awake, I dragged myself to get ready and finally left my place at about 7am.

Frankly, I have no idea where this Jempol is so I was basically driving blind with my only direction was to head to Bahau first. Ok, that should be easy... or so I thought. I referred to Annice as to how to get to Bahau and she told me to look for Kuala Pilah. Once I reached Kuala Pilah, I should be able to find signs to direct me to Bahau and subsequently to Jempol.

It took me awhile to finally register that there is no Kuala Pilah exit on the North South Highway. By that time I was already arriving at the Pedas-Linggi exit (the last exit for Negeri Sembilan). So, desparate, I have to make an early call to dear Annice for further assistance (sorry dear... but could not think of anyone else for help). So she told me that I should take Senawang or Seremban exit and look for Kuala Pilah. Damn..!! Passed that exit a while ago. So got out the highway at Pedas-Linggi and entered again at the same toll. This time, with more directions, I headed to the Senawang exit and looked for Bahau.

After getting lost a couple more times, I finally reached my destination. Took me nearly 2 hours to get from the Senawang toll to my destination but at least I got there (after numerous wrong turns). So here I was, in the middle of nowhere, approaching the Police Training Center in Air Hitam (the Negeri Sembilan one, not the Johor or Penang one). It was really in the middle of nowhere. Imagine trees and more trees and lots and lots of empty land (kinda like ICM in Nilai, if you guys remember what that is like).

So, to start off my day, I was late for a 9am appointment with the police, and to make things worse, the class that I was suppose to teaching had about 30 of them. This is, by far, the biggest class that I have taken. So, immediately went in to trainer mode and started the class. I realized then that my Bahasa Melayu was tremendously rusty as I kept having to divert back to English during the training session. Fortunately, it looked like they understood most of it (at least I think they did).

The day started of quite poorly but the training session ended rather well. I even got praise from them, then the "trainer yang paling best"... Hahahaha... Imagine that. Finally got back home about 8:30pm. Not too late but tired as hell.
