The one with the trip to Jempol

My alarm rang at 6:15am my time this morning. Finally woke up at about 6:50 (apparently the Nokia phone only allows 7 times to press the snooze button). Got ready to make my trip to this new and wonderous place. Feeling half awake, I dragged myself to get ready and finally left my place at about 7am.

Frankly, I have no idea where this Jempol is so I was basically driving blind with my only direction was to head to Bahau first. Ok, that should be easy... or so I thought. I referred to Annice as to how to get to Bahau and she told me to look for Kuala Pilah. Once I reached Kuala Pilah, I should be able to find signs to direct me to Bahau and subsequently to Jempol.

It took me awhile to finally register that there is no Kuala Pilah exit on the North South Highway. By that time I was already arriving at the Pedas-Linggi exit (the last exit for Negeri Sembilan). So, desparate, I have to make an early call to dear Annice for further assistance (sorry dear... but could not think of anyone else for help). So she told me that I should take Senawang or Seremban exit and look for Kuala Pilah. Damn..!! Passed that exit a while ago. So got out the highway at Pedas-Linggi and entered again at the same toll. This time, with more directions, I headed to the Senawang exit and looked for Bahau.

After getting lost a couple more times, I finally reached my destination. Took me nearly 2 hours to get from the Senawang toll to my destination but at least I got there (after numerous wrong turns). So here I was, in the middle of nowhere, approaching the Police Training Center in Air Hitam (the Negeri Sembilan one, not the Johor or Penang one). It was really in the middle of nowhere. Imagine trees and more trees and lots and lots of empty land (kinda like ICM in Nilai, if you guys remember what that is like).

So, to start off my day, I was late for a 9am appointment with the police, and to make things worse, the class that I was suppose to teaching had about 30 of them. This is, by far, the biggest class that I have taken. So, immediately went in to trainer mode and started the class. I realized then that my Bahasa Melayu was tremendously rusty as I kept having to divert back to English during the training session. Fortunately, it looked like they understood most of it (at least I think they did).

The day started of quite poorly but the training session ended rather well. I even got praise from them, then the "trainer yang paling best"... Hahahaha... Imagine that. Finally got back home about 8:30pm. Not too late but tired as hell.

The one after watching "Pathfinder"

To all those movie buffs looking for a good movie to watch, Pathfinder is definitely not one of them. I found it to be tactless, lack of a decent storyline, and lack star power. In case you were wondering, the main character was played by the same guy who play the lead in DOOM the movie.

So there I was deciding what movie to watch but the lack of better options steered my path towards this movie. At the begining of the show, I found that the dialog was kinda stale, reminds me of those Transformers cartoons dubbed from Japanese to English. Then as the story goes on, it gets worse. Mindless action (read as violence) just for the sake of it. Hey, I know that this story is supposed to be based on a legend, but geez, could there be a worse movie.

To keep it short, I will reserve the rest of my views to myself but I will say this. If you are looking for a movie with any kind of intelligence, then this is not your cup of tea. But, if you are looking for a movie with lots of gore and blood and guys being torn into pieces by horses, you can try it out... Don't say I didn't warn you.

The one where a decision was made

People say that the choices that you make defines who you are. Well, I just made a decision that made me realize how I do not like people moving my cheese. Two blogs ago, I came to a very familiar crossroads where the choice that I made here would change my life (of course it's not so exaggerated lar, but that's what makes blogging interesting). Well, just to recap, this was what I was facing.

a) New job, new MNC company, better pay but have to start at the bottom of the ladder
b) Old job, old company, more seniority, less pay but promises of a better tomorrow

And guess which did I choose? I chose the latter. So basically what I did was that I put all my gambling chips on one bet based solely on words that was spoken to me by a superior. I admit that it is a big gamble, given the alternative, but I have made my decision, and I am determined not to regret my decision, come what may.

While others choose management skeptism, I choose to give people a chance until they screw me over. Why?? I figured, new year + new management = new hope...

Live or die, I will ride this wave out until it decides to wipe me out, or until I conquer it...

The one with the new toy

I was never a person who keeps up-to-date with todays trends, in many aspects; tech, clothes, stlyes... Ask you friends, they will tell you that I dress like an old man. When others were listening to CDs in their cars, I still had a cassette player in mine. While others were listening to iPods, I was still using my notebook as a portable media player :P

Well, recently I decided to update my arsenal of tech. I have to admit that it might not be the most latest tech, but for me, it is close enough.

So there I was hanging out in Star Bucks in One Utama on New Years day (whatelse is a single guy suppose to do on a holiday, rite!!!), where the itch to spend some money of something expensive came up. In the back of mind I always knew that I wanted to get a portable media device thingy for my own pleasure but was torn between an iPod video, Creative Zen and PSP. So I just decided to get up and buy the first one that I see. And guess what I happen to see...???

Yup, that's rite... I got myself an iPod Video. With 30GB of space and a small yet somehow adequate display, I was pretty satisfied with my purchase. It has wicked sound and wicked video and the battery life is not as bad as I have read in many reviews. Here, check it out...

The one with the choices

Given a choice between:

a) New job, new MNC company, better pay but have to start at the bottom of the ladder
b) Old job, old company, more seniority, less pay but promises of a better tomorrow

Which would be your pick????
