The one with opportunities

Good opportunities are hard to come by, at least for me. But when it comes, it all comes at the same time. Life was good for me all this while. I had things going the way I wanted it to. Then, all of a sudden, something happened that threw everything that I thought was working for me out the proverbial window. Granted, that something is a good thing but, it is a major detour in my plans. If I go along with that something, it will be a whole new direction for me, a whole new set of challanges, a whole new everything. It's like asking me choose between sushi and steak (both of which I love). Short of flipping a coin, there is no easy way to make a decision. And it is definitely a big decision to make. This year has been a year full of such decisions for me and frankly I am getting tired of it. But I owe it to myself to consider it before making a decision so that I don't end up regretting. Decisions, decisions...

The one with the friggin' delivery

I can be considered to be a semi-regular customer of Amazon.com. I have purchased some DVDs from there before and did that again just recently. However, this type, the Malaysian POS service decides to hold my package in customs pending taxation. So, I was kinda shock as I did not experience this problem with my previous orders. Granted the title of the DVD maybe a bit dodgy to those who are not familiar with the Gilmore Girls series (yes, I do watch such a girlie show... but hey... everyone is entitled to at least one guilty pleasure rite..!). So, I called up the postal service branch in KLIA to enquire as to why my order is being held. Could you imagine my surprise (and grief and anger and many other emotions) when the only explanation that they could offer me was... NASIB... (LUCK). What the #@&*...!!! And to make matters worse, to get them to release my package and send it to me would cost me an extra RM 98. Makes you wonder what is going on in the POST Office branch in KLIA huh. We pay top dollar for the services which they are suppose to provide and this is the ingenious answer that they can offer... Just wonderful... Now I have to drive all the way down to KLIA to claim my package, which I do not know how much I will be taxed for... Damn...

The one with the end of an era

Frankly this blog is like 6 days overdue. Was thinking about putting this in right after i heard it but it was too late and nite and I was sleepy. BTW, please forgive the messenger-style spelling.

I was tuning in to WaFM during the last night they were on air. Only manage to catch a short snippet of it but it was enough to really make me reflect. There I was driving home from somewhere when I switched over to 97.6 only to hear a bunch of people singing live on the radio (some good, some not so good). So instinctively, I figured it was just a bunch of guest that were on the radio doing the last show. It turns out, I was half right. It was most of the DJs from the radio station, gathering in the studio one last time, and having the time of their lives broadcasting their final show with that station. It was their last broadcast with the station and they decided to have an on-air karaoke session.

Kinda gets you thinking huh... After being a part of something for so long, watching it grow to a level of success that you never imagine it would, and then seeing it fall right through your fingertips, how hard is it for you to say goodbye... especially with a group of people who have been with you through thick and thin. One word... EMOTIONAL... Talk about going out with a BANG...

Goodbye WaFM... My salute to you and your DJs...

I guess now, many people will be waiting to see the new and improved radio station.

The one that is interesting

I have now been officially out of the office for two whole weeks, not because I curi tulang or anything like that, but I have always had a reason not to be in the office. The entire first week I was away for training, the last three days I have been on leave, today I am in Johor (working but out of the office none the less), and tomorrow is a public holiday for Selangor... Yay me..!

During the past three days I have been on leave, I have found a new addiction. Sitting at Star Bucks, sipping coffee while working on my project assignment. Some of you may think that this is normal. But get this... I am now more that 300km away from home, sitting at Star Bucks, sipping coffee and using the free internet services. Even all the way down south, I can still find a Star Bucks and do the same thing... Kewl.... :P

The first one... sort of...

The problem with blogging now days is that it is too darn easy to apply for one and use it. Just like emails in the past, you can have many sites for you to blog on. Apparently, so did I. As far as yesterday was concerned, I thought I only had to maintain three blog sites. But it turns out that I have a forth one the I did not even remember applying for. Hence the site in which you are reading this now.

I have been away at training for the entire week now and will be absent from work for three days next week. I can only imagine the work load awaiting me in the office when I get back. Already I have a trip scheduled for me all the way down south, about 5 hours drive and it looks like I will be going alone. Now, I know that I have always wanted a job that will let me travel, but driving is totally different story. Sigh... all in the line of duty...

I guess that's all for my "not-really-the-first-but-the-first-in-this-site" blog for now.
